Dear Students, Staff Members, and Faculty of TTGU,
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I trust you and your loved ones have had a peaceful winter season.
As we begin a new semester, I would like to express my gratitude to the Student Council leaders who have been diligently preparing for our upcoming school retreat with dedication and care. This year, the theme of the retreat is “Be Strong and Courageous,” based on Joshua 1:9. It will take place on Thursday, March 13th, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Hayongjo Hall.
The retreat program will offer an enriching experience, featuring an opening worship service, prayer time, recreational activities, and small group sessions. Pastor Stanley Park from Global Mission Church will deliver the sermon during the worship service.
Please be reminded that retreat participation is mandatory for all MDiv, MTS, MA, and TSMS students, as it is a graduation requirement. To fulfill this requirement, you must attend at least 90% of the retreat in person. Since the retreat is an essential part of school life at TTGU, online participation is not allowed, unlike classes or chapel services. If you are unable to attend due to exceptional circumstances such as hospitalization caused by an accident or illness, natural disasters, military reserve duty, family death, or living abroad, you may submit an absence explanation along with supporting documents. In such cases, you can fulfil the graduation requirement by completing a substitute assignment, which will be provided after the retreat. Please note that reasons such as work, church ministry, residing in another region of Korea, or childcare will not be accepted as valid excuses.
While I have outlined these administrative requirements, the most important aspect of the retreat is that TTGU community comes together to hear the Word, worship, pray, and fellowship. I hope that each of you will attend with a pure heart, seizing the opportunity to praise God together and connect with fellow students, faculty, and staff.
I look forward to seeing you at the retreat on March 13th.
