New Life Sydney (English Ministry of Sydney Saesoon Presbyterian Church) – Full-time Associate Pastor

We are seeking a full-time Associate Pastor for our English congregation, who has a heart of love and reconciliation, and a desire for long-term culture building for our church.

 

About us

New Life is the English congregation within Sydney Saesoon Presbyterian Church in North Rocks, NSW Australia. We gather for the glory of God, in the Gospel of grace. We were founded in 2002, ten years after Saesoon’s founding as an immigrant church. Our congregation is made up of around 250-300 people. Though we are an English congregation within a Korean church, we are diverse, with people from different cultural backgrounds and at different life stages.

 

About you

New Life is looking for a warm, loving pastor who has a heart to join in building culture together with the Lead Pastor in providing pastoral care, preaching, relational discipleship, and seeking reconciliation and restorative relationships with the Korean congregation of Saesoon.

Experience ministering and serving in multi-generational and multi-cultural congregations is preferred. At least an intermediate grasp of the Korean language will be helpful to this end. We are looking to build bridges with the Korean community of Saesoon to see a bright future together.

A vibrant spiritual life, a humble servant heart, a desire to work within a team environment alongside volunteers and the Lead Pastor, agreement with New Life’s statement of beliefs and ministry direction, and theological qualifications with at least a bachelor’s degree are all required.

 

Responsibilities

You will work closely with the Lead Pastor and Ministry Directors of New Life and liaise with the Board of Elders and the Senior Pastor of Saesoon to assist in pastoring the English congregation. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Preaching: Share in preaching the Bible with the Lead Pastor
• Pastoral Care: Provide compassionate pastoral care and wise counsel to the members of New Life
• Discipleship: Live intentionally to aid in spiritual growth
• Young Adults: Welcome and help bridge the gap for high school graduates entering New Life

 

Eligibility:

To be eligible for employment, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or be willing to move to Australia on a visa with work rights.
