Report on the Spring 2009 Ping Pong Tournament

The much awaited ping-pong tournament was held on April 15th in the Student Lounge. It was challenging to bring the Torch Trinity community together in the middle of a busy semester. Even so, the students, faculty, and staff came to play and fellowship together in intense yet friendly contests. The Student Council released the new school t-shirts and these were given away as gifts to all the participants, faculty and staff members who were present.

Single set elimination rounds were quick and produced surprising results. Only staff and faculty teams managed to reach the finals in the men's tournaments, after successfully eliminating students in the qualifying rounds.

Men's singles: Dr. Hung- Sik Choi (Faculty)

Men's Doubles: Rev. Hong Il- young and Lee Seog Kyu (Staff)

Mixed Doubles: Kim Eun Sook (M.Div) and Kim Jin Seo (M.A. CC)

Dr. Young Woon Lee, Dean of Students, awarded the winning teams with cheers from the spectators. The day ended with a group photo which put the competition into perspective: players may have been on opposite teams, but all are the children of God. The fellowship inspires a lasting bond of affection among the members of the Torch Trinity community, in addition to providing a time of fun and relaxation. Congratulations go out to the winners and all of the participants deserve applause.
