[부고] 제2대 총장 케네스 마이어 박사 소천

본교 제2대 총장이셨던 케네스 마이어 박사께서 향년 83세로 미국시간으로 2016년
10월 11일 오후에 소천하셨다.
고 케네스 마이어 박사는 1974년
50명도 안되는 미국의 트리니티복음주의신학교의 총장으로 선출된 이래 21년간 총장으로 섬기면서
현재의 세계적인 기독교 대학인 트리니티국제대학교로 성장시키신 분이다. 1995년 은퇴한 후에도 트리니티국제대학교의
명예총장으로, 플로리다에 있는 트리니티방송국의 사장으로, 국제기아대책기구의
대표로, 미국 신학대학교총장협의회 회장으로 여러 곳에서 하나님의 나라를 위해 섬겼다.
또한 마이어 박사는 1992년 횃불선교센타와 트리니티복음주의신학대학원이
공동 주최한 횃불트리니티 신학대학원 연구과정을 1년간 추진하였고, 횃불선교원과
트리니티국제대학교의 공동 노력으로 횃불트리니티신학대학원대학교를 설립하여 자매관계를 맺는데 결정적인 산파역할을 하였다.
그리고 2001년 1월부터 2005년 2월까지 본교의 제2대
총장으로 섬기면서 본교를 국제적인 신학교로 발돋움할 수 있도록 한 분이다.
장례식은 2016년 10월 19일 수요일 오후 7시 미국 트리니티국제대학교 채플에서 진행된다.
Dr. Kenneth M. Meyer, the 2nd
president of TTGU, died on October 11, 2016 at age 83.
Dr. Meyer was appointed as a president of
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 1974. During 21 years of his
presidentship, he made the college and the divinity school united and led to
Trinity International University known as an eminent Christian school in the
world. He also served as a chancellor of TIU, president of Trinity Broadcasting
Company in Florida, chair of Food for the Hungry International, president of
Presidents’ Association of Evangelical Seminaries of North America, and in many
places for the Kingdom of God.
He, as a president of TIU conjunct with
Torch Mission Center launched the 1 year Torch-Trinity Theological Education Program
in 1992. Moreover he played great role in the birth of Torch Trinity Graduate
University. Also he served as the 2nd president of TTGU from 2001 to
2005 and led TTGU as an international school.
A funeral service will take place on October 19, 2016 at 7 pm in the A.T. Olson Chapel on TIU campus.
