Dear TTGU community,

This fall we prepared our Ministry Exploration Week on the theme, “Ministry in a New Environment.” Where are we now? What are the challenges and opportunities? For that, we invited valuable speakers and practitioners. Please join us. All events will be conducted via Zoom. Please see below for the event schedules.

Chapel Attendance Requirement during Ministry Exploration Week 사역탐방주간 중 채플참석의무

*You are required to attend Tuesday event (11:20am for English program) or Thursday event (3:50pm for Korean program) during chapel hours as a chapel requirement. Attendance check will be made thru Chapel Google Classroom. Tuesday afternoon event (3:50pm for Korean program) and Wednesday afternoon event (1pm for English program) are optional but you are strongly encouraged to join (extra point will be considered for PT/MI courses).

You will find all the Zoom links for the event at the Chapel Google Classroom.

*채플시간 중 진행되는 화요일행사(영어과정, 오전11:20)와 목요일행사(한국어과정, 오후3:50)는 채플참석으로 간주되니 꼭 참여하여야 합니다. 채플출석은 채플 구글클래스룸을 통해 이루어집니다. 수요일오후행사(영어과정, 오후1:00)와 화요일오후행사(한국어과정, 오후3:50)는 출석의무사항은 아니지만 참여할 것을 적극 권장합니다 (실천신학, 선교학 과목들에 extra point를 받으실 수 있습니다).

Speakers

Dr. Seung Min Hong (Ph.D., University of Iowa)

Assistant Professor of Media & Film Studies at Fresno Pacific University. Before coming to Fresno, he has also taught courses on religion in Korea and Korean culture at the Division of International Studies, Korea University. Dr. Hong’s research interests lie in the intersections of media, religion, and culture, and his publications can be found in such journals as the International Journal of Communication, Journal of Korean Religions, and the International Bulletin of Mission Research. He also holds a Master’s degree from Trinity International University in Communication & Culture with an emphasis on Religious Studies as well as a graduate certificate in Christian Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

연세대학교에서 종교사회학으로 박사학위를 취득하였고 현재 실천신학대학원대학교에서 교수로 재직중. 한국인문사회과학회 편집위원. 한국종교사회학회 재무이사. 바른교회아카데미 연구위원. (전)연세대학교 사회발전연구소 전문연구원. 21세기교회연구소 소장. 저서: 한국교회의 미래10년, 한국교회의 종교사회학적 이해, 소그룹의 사회학, 현대한국사회와 기독교 (공저), 그들은 왜 가톨릭 교회로 갔을까 (공저), 시민사회속의 기독교회 (공편), 그들의 자살 그리고 우리 (공저), 교회 안 나가는 그리스도인, 함께 살아나는 마을과 교회.

Assistant Pastor at Somang Presbyterian Church, Assistant Professor at Myeongji University.

Graduated with both a MACE and an MDiv from Torch Trinity. Currently the Head English Pastor at Somang Presbyterian Church (Apgujeong) and an Assistant Professor at Myongji University (bi-vocational ^^).

Associate Pastor at Nam Seoul Presbyterian Church.

Ministry experiences at Yonsei University, Jubilee Church. Currently preparing for church planting next year. He was a former engineer at Motorola.

Korea University Student Counseling Center.

MA in Biblical Counseling; MA in Marriage and Family Counseling; ThM in Psychology and Counseling; PhD in Psychology and Counseling.
