KX Kids Director/Pastor Job Description

Purpose:

Teach kids about God’s redeeming plan for them and the world through Sunday experience and partner with the church and parents as they continue this good work throughout the week.

-          Loves and is talented at engaging kids

-          Excitedly shares his/her deep personal faith and knowledge of God’s word

-          Flexibly adapts to COVID realities and work with kids of various ages

-          Creatively crafts a fun and safe space for kids

-          Takes initiative to grow the ministry with the support of volunteers

-          Can work in a team environment, giving and getting feedback and direction

 

Education and Experience:

-          2 years of experience preferred

-          Theological Training/Seminary degree preferred

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Teaching

-          Develop and oversee age-appropriate curriculum

-          Share weekly a gospel centric lesson (as opposed to ‘good morals’)

 

Shepherding

-          Pastoral care for children and volunteers, to include meet-ups, check-ins, and discipleship

-          Regularly intercede for KX and all volunteers

 

Equipping

-          Recruit and train volunteers

-          Equip and empower parents to take the lead in discipleship of their children

 

Other

-          Oversee Kid’s program for annual churchwide retreats

-          Oversee summer Vacation Bible School

-          Attend Pastors Meetings (weekly or bi-weekly)

 

Hours:

-          Required onsite hours: Sundays: 11-4pm, Fridays 10-4pm

-          Other hours are flexible

 

Compensation:

-          Part-time position – approximately 20 hours per week

-          Compensation negotiable – based on education, training, and experience
